History & Origins of Mazingira Day
Mazingira Day in Kenya, celebrated on October 10th, was signed into law in 2024 to replace the historical Moi Day (and later Huduma Day/Utamaduni Day). The Kenyan government re-designated this holiday to address the urgent modern need for environmental conservation, promoting climate action, reforestation, and ecological preservation.
