Labour Thanksgiving Day (Kinrō Kansha no Hi) in Japan, celebrated on November 23rd, honors the value of honest work and production. Historically, it marks the ancient imperial harvest festival 'Niiname-sai', where the Emperor offered newly harvested rice to the Shinto gods. The modern secular holiday was established in 1948 to promote workers' rights and mutual gratitude.
