Day of Aragón, celebrated on April 23rd, honors Saint George (San Jorge), the patron saint of Aragon. Historically, the legend of San Jorge's miraculous intervention during the Battle of Alcoraz in 1096 inspired the Aragonese Christian forces, and he was formally declared patron saint in 1461.
