History & Origins of Kashmir Day
Kashmir Solidarity Day in Pakistan, observed on February 5th, was first proposed in 1990 by politician Qazi Hussain Ahmad. The holiday is designated to express Pakistan's political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination in the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir.

Observed with solemn public rallies, the formation of human chains at key border crossings, state speeches, and broadcast of documentaries highlighting the history and political struggle of the Kashmiri people.
