History & Origins of Mashujaa Day
Mashujaa Day (formerly Kenyatta Day), celebrated in Kenya on October 20th, is dedicated to honoring and remembering all Kenyan heroes ('Mashujaa' in Swahili) who fought in the Mau Mau rebellion and other nationalist movements to secure freedom, as well as modern heroes who have brought honor to the nation.
